200 Hour Foundations Program

COURSE LOCATION 2016

This July we will be hosting the course in Qualicum Beach at the beautiful Heat to Heal Yoga Retreat Sanctuary.


TYPICAL SCHEDULE

  • 6:30-7 Meditation practice
  • 7-8:30 Asana practice
  • 8:30-9 Kriya and pranayam practice
  • 9-10 Morning Break
  • 10-12pm Lectures
  • 12:30-1 Lunch Break
  • 1-3:30pm Asana Methodology and Teaching Practice

Students can expect approximately 30 minutes of reading, writing and home study per evening.  Please note that this schedule is subject to change.

Our four week program runs six days a week with one day per week of rest.  Generally our day off is on a Saturday or Sunday.

  • Prenatal yoga guidelines

  • Business, marketing and ethics

  • Subtle bodies and the chakras

  • How to teach beginners, multilevel classes and dealing with injuries

  • Weekly teaching assessments with feedback

  • One field trip to enjoy the beauty of Vancouver Island

  • Final examination and teaching assessment

It is required that students have been practicing yoga for six months and declare themselves to be physically and mentally fit to attend the program.  All registrants must provide a non-refundable $150 application fee.  This can be put towards the cost of the course when paid in full.  Upon receipt of your application fee you will receive an application package which must be filled out in full.

VIJNAMAYA KOSHA MODULE - KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, INTUITION, PERCEPTION

    •    Ethics for Yoga Teachers, student teacher relationship
    •    Prenatal Yoga Guidelines
    •    Yin and Restorative Yoga Introduction

ANANDAMAYA KOSHA MODULE - BLISS, JOY, LOVE

ALL FIVE MODULE MUST BE COMPLETE TO GRADUATE WITH A 200 HOUR YTT CERTIFICATION
At the end of training students will be evaluated on their teaching skills with a final examination and teaching evaluation. Students must have also completed a minimum of twenty hours of independent study and reading. This could mean that a student may need to retest at a future date to receive an updated passing grade.  Upon successful completion students will receive a graduation certificate as evidence of your training at the 200 hour level and may register with Yoga Alliance at that time as a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 level.
